It’s amazing the number of Guinness World Records attributed to ice cream. There’s the most expensive ice cream maker, the fastest ice cream maker, the most scoops of ice cream on a single cone, the longest banana split, the most people licking ice cream at once, the largest vanilla ice cream float, and the ice cream sundae that set the record as the most expensive dessert.
You can now add the World’s Longest Ice Cream Dessert and the Tallest Ice Cream Whip to the list. The record for the longest ice cream dessert was recently set at St. Anne’s School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where the 150-foot creation shattered the old record of 130-feet, 6 inches. The bowl for this record holder was less impressive. It was a very long piece of vinyl gutter.
The record for the tallest whip was set on the United Kingdom’s The Paul O’Grady Show by a gentleman by the name of Paul O’Grady. I’m guessing he has something to do with the show. That said, the ice cream whip measured at 5.51 inches. To be honest, I’m not sure how one goes about making an ice cream whip, but I’m assuming whipping is somehow involved.
Congratulations to the good people and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Mr. O’Grady on your new ice cream world records.
