When most of us decorate a Christmas tree, we just recreate a version of what we’ve done in the past. The same ornaments. The same garland. The same star. This year, change things up a bit and add a little ice cream to your tree.
Decorating with ice cream as easy as buying some ice cream-themed ornaments. You can find ornaments in the shape of cones, banana splits, ice cream pints, and ice cream trucks. The selection is endless.
For those who want to try the DIY approach, you can make your own ice cream cone ornaments. There are a variety of methods, the most common and easiest uses ball ornaments, ice cream cones and glue. Add the glue where the ornament and cone meet, drop in ornament, wait for it to dry, and ta-da — ice cream cone ornament. Make certain that you don’t put the ornament in the cone upside down, or you won’t have any way to hang the ornament.
For those who want to take it to the next step, try decorating your ornament with acrylic paint, glass beads and sprinkles. Be creative and have fun. You’re on your way to a very merry ice cream season.
If you do add a little ice cream to your tree this year, please send me photos. I’d love to see them and share them.
